Our College gives more importance to the sports activities of the students. Our students have particpated in so many games and sports in District and State level and won many prizes. |

Two NSS units have been sanctioned by the Directorate of Technical Education. Special projects are organized to train our students in community and personality development programmes.

Red Ribbon Club is functioning effectively in our Campus. The main objective of RRC is to conduct programmes on AIDS awareness for students and also for rural public with the help of trained student voulnteers.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, this scheme has been implemented successfully for providing skill oriented and need based training programmes, free of cost to rural and under privileged sections of the society. Our Institution is extending its service to the community by offering need based trining programmes at free of cost to self help group by mahalir thittam, Govt of Tamilnadu.
Courses / Training Programmes offered and Duration:
1. Beautician - 3 Months
2. T.V. & DVD Service Technician - 3 Months
3. Electrician - 3 Months
4. Dress Making & Stitching - 6 Months
5. Toy Making - 3 Months
6. Basket Making - 3 Months
7. Bakery - 3 Months
8. Design Blouse & Chudithar cutting - 3 Months
9. Bag Making - 3 Months

Short term vocational courses of 3 to 6 months duration are conducted as part-time Programmes. Courses are offered in yarn processing, garment making, handicrafts, export management, computer technology and other need based areas. Through this scheme, the students have opportunity to gain additional practical knowledge in other interdisciplinary and need based areas after paying nominal course fee.

NCC is functioning effectively to make the students responsible citizens and develop leadership qualities. Special training programmes and camps in various parts of the country are organized periodically for our students.

Our YRC unit regularly organises Blood Group Identification Camps, Blood Donation Events, First Aid Classes, Road Safety classes, etc for the students and staff every year. Further it promotes the ideals of Red Cross movement among the youth by encouraging the students and staff to participate in YRC organised programmes. |

The students’ chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India) is active in our Institute. Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Industrial visits, Quiz competition and software design competitions are being conducted with other polytechnic students every semester. Principal Prof. R. Muthusamy is the coordinator and V.SIMPSONE, Senior Lecturer, Department of Basic Engineering is the advisor of the Chapter. |

Our ISTE Chapter with Staff members and ISTE Students’ Chapter are regularly organizing technical education based competitions, Guest Lectures, seminars, etc for the dissemination of knowledge and skills.

ISTE & IIPC has jointly organised and conducted Personality Development Programmes for all II and III Year students from 06/06/2011 to 24/06/2011. |

Our institute has been selected by the AICTE to form an exclusive Industry Institute Partnership Cell with a grant of Rs 1,00,000/- through File. No: 8024/RID/IIPC(10)/2007_2008 dated 22/01/2008.
It strengthens our efforts of cooperation with Industry and trade for the betterment of students, staffs, alumni and the Industry 7 Trade.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
All India Council for Technical Education has selected our institution for establishing this centre for entrepreneurship development with a grant of Rs. 8 lakhs.
This centre will motivate entrepreneurship spirit, develop entrepreneurial skills and provide guidance and support among all potential aspirants by organising a variety of effective programmes.
It will also offer training to the unemployed educated youth, small investors, those seeking self employment, self help groups and women.
Main areas of training would be on Managing Finance, Government Schemes, Marketing, Industry and Office Management Systems, Soft Skills and Exports.
